Slewing ring bearings are large-size rolling bearings that can accommodate axial, radial and moment loads acting either singly or in combination and in any direction. They consist of an inner ring, an outer ring and rolling elements (balls or cylindrical rollers) separated by polyamide spacers. One ring usually incorporates a gear, provided with holes for attachment bolts. Integral seals made of NBR keep lubricant in and contaminants out.

Compared to traditional pivot arrangements, these bearings provide compactness, a large inner diameter, and performance advantages. The low sectional height allows for shorter pinion levers and simplifies overall design requirements.
